The Relatives from Canada

To begin with, last night I met up with my relatives from Canada at my Aunt Marina’s house. It was an interesting event because I met my granduncle’s wife, Donnita Deen. She was a Canadian who married my granduncle Han which makes them my dad’s uncle and aunt. Uncle Han is a retired doctor, I think. I haven’t gotten into detail about my family background. Sad, I know but if you have thrice the family I have, you would get the feeling too.

I talked to Donnita, and she told me about her kids. They have three kids, all of which are way older than me. The eldest, Mark is a news correspondent on Finance and Economics in Paris to Bloomberg Business. I thought that was pretty neat. Then, there’s Michael whom I have yet to meet even though he did visit Malaysia a couple years back. He is currently an advisor to pensioners in the UK on finances. Lastly, the only daughter of their whom I have met a few years ago with her husband and his kids; Meribeth Deen, Ross Bragg (husband), Will and Sophie (kids). She recently gave birth to her daughter, Francine, if I am not mistaken. She majored in Journalism and currently runs her own newspaper which is superb.

Then, I asked her about books. She liked all kinds of books, but she is now reading foreign books, I wish I remember the names but as it is, I have poor memory. I did mentioned that I read ‘The Tipping Point’ by Malcolm Gladwell and she pointed out that he was a Canadian! How foolish of me not to know the biography of the author. Anyway, it was a pleasant night and we talked about common interests, but I guess it was too much for one night. She is my grandaunt, after all.  I know this is short but I am trying to get use to blogging and grammar.

Until then, assalam.
